Burroughs Audubon Nature Club will host Jeff Wyatt from Seneca Park Zoo as he presents “Return of the Sturgeon” from 7:30 to 9 p.m. on Oct. 12 at the Clover Center for Arts and Spirituality, 1101 Clover St., Rochester.
The lake sturgeon has lived in the Great Lakes for over 10,000 years. It is the oldest and largest native fish to this area, weighing up to 200 pounds.
Wyatt will share his knowledge of this “living fossil” and what is causing its severe decline, as well as what various agencies are trying to do about it.
