Geva Theatre Center, 75 Woodbury Blvd., Rochester, will continue its 46th season with “Thurgood” by George Stevens Jr. and directed by Lou Bellamy on Oct. 16-Nov. 18.
“Thurgood” spans the 58-year career of Justice Thurgood Marshall, from his early days as the civil rights lawyer arguing Brown v. Board of Education to the end of institutionalized segregation in 1954 and his appointment to the U.S. Supreme Court in 1967.
The production stars Lester Purry in the titular role. The creative team includes Don Darnutzer, lighting design; Justin Ellington, sound design; Rasean Davonte Johnson, projection design; Casey McNamara, costume design; Jean Gordon Ryon, dramaturge; and Vicki Smith, scenic design.
