A Macedon man was charged with stealing over $24,000 from a person he had a "family relationship' with in Canandaigua.
CANANDAIGUA — A 76-year-old Macedon man was arrested for allegedly stealing over $24k in cash and a debit card from a Canandaigua person.
City of Canandaigua Police Chief Stephen Hedworth announced the arrest of James Whitney, 76. for third degree grand larceny and fourth degree grand larceny for allegedly stealing $24,800 in cash and a debit card from a local residence and bank account. Hedworth stated that Whitney stole the money from someone of a known "family relationship" with while the victim was hospitalized between September 6-29.
Whitney was taken to the Ontario County Jail for arraignment.
