The stars on stage at New Day Christian Preschool’s Christmas Family Night were 3 and 4 years old, yet the beauty of the first Christmas glowed in the faces of the young performers.
The 3-year-old class opened the program by parading up and down the aisles, ringing bells and singing “Jingle Bells.” The 10 classmates, tinsel halos atop their heads, sang “10 Little Angels.” Dressed in their finest, they ended their part of the program with “Happy Birthday, Jesus” and “We Wish You a Merry Christmas.”
Twins Evelyn and Wyatt Skirment made their debut as Mary and Joseph. Annabelle Abram portrayed the angel Gabriel and Kelvin Lehning played the innkeeper. Other classmates played angels, shepherds and wise men.
The young actors added music to the performance, including “Away in a Manger,” “Three Wise Men,” “Hush” and “All Night, All Day.”
“I am so proud of all the children,” teacher Judi Marino said. “They put their whole hearts into it.”
A reception followed the show with Christmas cookies and chocolate milk.
