Supervisor Bill Reilich is thanking everyone who participated in the town of Greece Giving Tree Project this year.
This project provided an opportunity for community members to help families in need during the holiday season. Ornament tags were placed on the tree indicating specific items needed, and residents were invited to take an ornament off the tree, purchase the item and return it to the box in Greece Town Hall.
Donations went to the Mission Share Outreach Center of Greece. Reilich recently was joined by Mission Share Outreach members; Peter O’Brien, director of the Community and Senior Center; Lisa Letta, deputy director; and constituent service team members Michele Fiannaca and Linda Sofia as the items were loaded into the Mission Share van.
Mission Share Outreach is a collaborative effort of 13 churches to serve those in need year-round. Visit for information and volunteer opportunities.
“I have had the honor of witnessing community members selflessly give this holiday season as they bring the spirit of Christmas to those in need,” Reilich said. “This is truly a caring community and the ways in which our community comes together to support one another makes me very thankful to live in this town.”
