Eastman Opera Theatre will present the Greek mythological tale of Orpheus, “Orfeo ed Euridice,” with music by Christoph Willibald Gluck and libretto by Ranieri de’ Calzabigi on Jan. 31-Feb. 3 in Annex 804 at the Eastman School of Music, 26 Gibbs St., Rochester.
“Orfeo” depicts the underground rescue mission in which the hero must control, or conceal, his emotions. A pre-opera talk will start one hour before each performance.
Presented in Italian with English supertitles, “Orfeo” is directed by Stephen Carr with musical direction by Timothy Long. Tickets cost $24, or $10 for students.
