A Greece teen is facing kidnapping charges after allegedly abducting a female near Finger Lakes Community College; she later escaped in the Town of Greece.

CANANDAIGUA — A Greece teen was arrested and charged with kidnapping after allegedly abducting a person near Finger Lakes Community College.

According to police, Joshua Lyon, 18, was charged with second-degree kidnapping for abducting a person and taking them to Greece, where they were released after several hours of being held captive.

"There was physical contact when he pulled her into the car," said Ontario County Sheriff Kevin Henderson. "When he stopped the car in Greece she was able to walk away and seek help."

Ontario County sheriff's deputies then worked with the Greece Police Department to locate Lyons in Rochester, where he was then arrested. Henderson stated that further charges are possible pending grand jury action. The 18-year-old female was not seriously injured in the incident.

The defendant is currently being held in the Ontario County Jail and awaiting arraignment.

Police say that Lyon knew the victim.
