Winners will be honored at the 34th annual Community Awards Gala on May 21 at the Italian-American Community Center, 50 Frank DiMino Way, Rochester.
The Beautification Award recognizes an individual or organization for new construction or restoration of existing facilities to enhance the area.
The Joseph Entress Memorial Award for economic development recognizes someone for ongoing improvement, encouraging continued economic development in the area.
The Innovative Business Award recognizes a recent addition to the business community that stimulated economic growth and commerce.
The Culture and Arts Award recognizes someone who strengthened the understanding, appreciation and support of art and culture.
The Outstanding Citizen Award recognizes an individual who contributed to the betterment of the community.
The Loretta Simmons Women’s Leadership Award is given to a woman who owns or is a leader in business.
The Youth Leadership Award acknowledges a youth group or individuals ages 21 or younger who live, attend school or work in the Gates or Chili area, give service and leadership to others in the community on a volunteer basis, and serve as a role model among their peers.
The Dream Big Award is the small business of the year award. This award embodies the spirit of innovation.
