The Hilton Education Foundation will sponsor a food drive for the Cadet Cupboard from 9 a.m. to noon on March 2 at Hilton High School, 400 East Ave.
The Cadet Cupboard is a food pantry for students in the Hilton Central School District. It provides nutritious food that children in need can take home and prepare on their own. A $6 donation feeds a child for the weekend.
Donors can drop off money or nonperishable items at the food drive, especially 12-ounce jars of peanut butter; whole grain crackers; canned pastas, soups and beef stew in pop-top cans; cans or packets of tuna or chicken; small boxes of healthy cereal; oatmeal packets; ramen noodles; rice or instant potato packets; microwavable macaroni and cheese; 4-ounce fruit cups, including peaches and applesauce; 8.5-ounce vegetable cups, including corn and green beans; trail mixes; raises and dried fruit in snack-size boxes; pudding cups; juice boxes, including apple, orange and other 100 percent juices; white and chocolate milks that do not require refrigeration; and cereal bars or granola bars.
Items should be small enough to fit in a backpack; do not bring perishable or glass items. Call (585) 392-1000, ext. 2152 or visit hiltoneducationfoundation.org for information.
