The Jupiter String Quartet will perform a free recital at the Eastman School of Music, 26 Gibbs St., Rochester, as part of the James E. Clark Chamber Music Residency at noon on March 8 in Hatch Recital Hall.
The residency aims to provide Eastman student ensembles with exposure to the playing and teaching of a world-renowned ensemble each spring.
The Jupiter Quartet will perform Stravinsky’s Three Pieces for String Quartet, Dutilleux’s “Ainsi La Nuit” and Mendelssohn’s Quartet in A minor, Op. 13. A Q&A will follow. The ensemble will lead a chamber music masterclass from 1 to 3 p.m. on March 7 in Kilbourn Hall.
