St. John’s Home hosted its annual Date Night for residents to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Feb. 13.
Attendees experienced a three-course meal that included shrimp cocktail, butternut squash soup, flank steak and crème brûlée, among other options. Along with dinner, residents enjoyed a live harpist and photo booth.
In its fourth year, Date Night provides St. John’s Home residents with an opportunity to celebrate Valentine’s Day with their loved ones without having to leave their residence. While enjoyed by all residents, Date Night was created with residents who have mobile limitations. Attendees vary from couples to friend dates and special evenings with family members.
“Traditions like Date Night are so important to use here at St. John’s because life’s memories are made all throughout your lifespan,” St. John’s Vice President of Skilled Services Nate Sweeney said. “We like to step in and add an extra pizazz to events to ensure residents enough all life has to offer.”
