Children of all ages will have the opportunity to adopt a maple tree for free at the annual Maple Camp on March 23-24 at Schoff’s Sugar Shack, 1064 Willis Hill Road, Victor.
Campers will go into the woods and tap a maple tree. In the process, they will learn how to identify a maple tree and how the sap moves from the ground to the limbs in the early spring.
Children will return to the shack to boil syrup, as well as sample syrup and candy. Parents need to be present to drive their children to the woods and back.
Registration is required and limited to 25 campers each day. Call (585) 924-3769 for information.
