Hillel Community Day School is honoring Brighton Town Supervisor William W. Moehle at this year’s Scholarship Gala, being held at 5:30 p.m. on April 14 at the Jewish Community Center, 1200 Edgewood Ave.
Moehle was nominated for his support of Hillel School, the Jewish Community of Greater Rochester, and his larger work for the Brighton Community. Since his inauguration in 2012, Moehle has provided a sense of security and leadership to the community and become a role model for all. Moehle’s support of the community has led to a close relationship between the town of Brighton and Hillel School. Under his leadership, Moehle has proven a commitment to inclusivity and cultivating an environment that values all its constituents, no matter their background.
The Hillel Community Day School Parent Volunteer of the Year Award is going to Eva Weissman for her devotion to the school’s mission, students and community. Weissman is the Parent Teacher Organization president and a member of the Hillel Community Day School’s board of trustees. Originally from Philadelphia, Weissman has found a second family within Hillel. She continues to lift the community with her focus on living Jewishly and her promotion of Jewish values. Whether Hillel is hosting a community event or there is a need for assistance in the office, Weissman is there to support everything that Hillel School does. Weissman and her husband Jonathan are the parents of an HCDS first-grader, Noah and an incoming kindergarten student, Jacob.
