Greece resident joins Dixon Schwabl
Ted Wenskus, of Greece, recently joined Dixon Schwabl, an advertising, marketing and public relations agency in Victor, as a copy editor.
Wenskus will review drafts, layouts and printer proofs for specific clients to ensure correct grammar, punctuation and spelling. He will maintain client style guides.
Wenskus has 20 years of experience as a copywriter and copy editor. He attended The College at Brockport, where he earned his bachelor’s degree in biology and English as well as his master’s degree in English.
New York Guard recognizes Rochester volunteer
Maj. Geoffrey Milligan, of Rochester, recently received the New York Guard 30-year Long and Faithful Service Award.
Milligan serves with the New York Guard Headquarters. The force’s 600 uniformed volunteers augment the New York National Guard during state emergencies. Members were involved in recent flood control efforts along the Lake Ontario shoreline.
New York Guard volunteers do not have a federal military role and do not deploy outside the state. Members are paid when they are placed on state duty during emergencies.
Passero Associates professional supports Chili community
The professionals at Passero Associates have had a long-standing passion for getting involved in and supporting the communities where they live and work.
Passero staff are involved in numerous community organizations and are currently serving on several Boards of Directors for professional organizations, local institutions and non-profit agencies.
Project Engineer/Construction Inspector Matt Sinacola, NICET I, serves as chair to the Chili Drainage Committee in the town of Chili. Sinacola has over 21 years of experience in engineering, CAD design and surveying, including work on most aspects of land surveying and land development. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in liberal arts / fine arts, from Clark University. He resides in Chili.
Gates Chili pianist receives Howard Hanson Award
Gates Chili senior Jordan Klotz recently received a Howard Hanson Award, presented by the Rochester Piano Teachers’ Guild.
The merit certificate goes to high school seniors exhibiting excellence in piano performance.
Klotz was a prizewinner in the Junior All-Star Competition, and was accepted into the NafME All-Eastern Chorus. He serves as drum major for the Gates Chili High School Marching Band and director of music at Parkminster Church.
He plans to study sacred music and music education next year at Westminster Choir College in New Jersey.
