The fifth-graders from Hillel Community Day School participated in the Mental Health Matters Day on March 13 at the state capital, an event sponsored by the Mental Health Association in New York State Inc.
This was an educational and inspirational day on how to use their voice to advocate for improved mental health awareness in the community.
They had the chance to interact with other educators and students from across New York State, learn more about mental health, grassroots advocacy and meet with the assistants to local state legislators.
