NYSP have identified the eight people injured in Sunday night's crash in Farmington at Routes 332 and 96. Of the eight injured, four are children. There is also a report of a missing dog that jumped out of one of the vehicles. Messenger Post Media will continue to update this developing story.

CRASH VICTIMS IDENTIFIED:

State police are investigating a serious two-vehicle crash in Farmington that left eight people injured.

It happened at the intersection of State Routes 332 and 96 around 7 p.m. on Sunday. The roads were shut down for several hours but have since reopened.

State police say the driver of a southbound vehicle on State Route 332 failed to yield to the right of away and tried to turn left, striking a northbound vehicle passing through the intersection.

The driver of the southbound vehicle, 59-year-old Eileen Taylor from Springfield, Pennsylvania, was taken to FF Thompson for injuries. The driver of the northbound vehicle, 46-year-old Phone Dumas from West Henrietta, was taken to Strong Memorial Hospital with injuries.

A passenger in the northbound vehicle, 43-year-old Phoneouthith Homniyom of Rochester, was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital by Mercy Flight with serious injuries. Five other passengers in the northbound vehicle -- 30-year-old Jutatip Pimparat, 17-year-old Justin Homniyom, 13-year-old Malatip Homniyom, 12-year-old Leila Dumas, 7-year-old Niran Dumas -- were all taken to Strong Memorial Hospital for various injuries.

Witnesses in the area said that while this is a notorious intersection for accidents, that this was the worst they'd seen.

"[I've never seen anything] this bad, at least not since I've been working around here," said Tyler Fischer, who works nearby. "I know this intersection, it's pretty big for high-speed accidents, but this is definitely the worst thing I've ever seen here."

State Routes 332 and 96 were shut down for several hours but have since reopened.

Authorities have not yet released the names of those involved in the crash.

State police are trying to figure out what caused a major wreck that sent responders rushing to the scene in Farmington.

It happened at the intersection of routes 332 and 96 around 7 p.m. on Sunday. The area was shut down for hours during the investigation.

There has been no official word from the Ontario County Sheriff's Office or New York State Police on injuries. But there were reports of up to five ambulances and a helicopter.

There is also a report of a missing dog from the scene. Deputies say a yellow lab mix took off from one of the vehicles and has not been seen since the crash.

Airbags were deployed on both the SUV and car involved in the crash and both vehicles have significant damage.

Witnesses in the area said that while this is a notorious intersection for accidents, that this was the worst they'd seen.

A car accident has closed a road and prompted a large response in Farmington.

According to our news partner, News10NBC who has a crew at the scene, the crash took place at the busy intersection of routes 332 and 96 in Farmington.

Traffic on 332 north is reportedly blocked, while southbound traffic is being detoured.

There has been no official word from the Ontario County Sheriff's Office on injuries, but one member of the News10NBC team saw a Mercy Flight helicopter take off shortly after he arrived on the scene.
