Visit Rochester recently announced Amanda Pfeil, director of event services, successfully received her Certified Meeting Professional credential from the Events Industry Council.
The CMP is the highest recognition an individual working in the meetings and event space can earn, and it is recognized globally as the badge of excellence in the events industry. The qualifications for certification are based on professional experience, education and an exam.
Pfeil began her career with Visit Rochester in 2013 as convention services coordinator. Over the past six years, Pfeil has excelled in her position and is growing the event services department at Visit Rochester. In her current role as director of event services, Pfeil is responsible for providing meeting, tournament, event and conference planners in the Rochester area with resources throughout their planning process while creating a memorable experience for each of their attendees. Pfeil is also tasked with working with visiting meeting and event attendees to extend their stay in the Rochester area following an event in order to maximize the economic impact of each convening group or organization.
“We couldn’t be more proud of Amanda and her accomplishments,” said Don Jeffries, president and CEO, Visit Rochester. “Receiving the CMP certification is an incredible achievement. Amanda and her team work with hundreds of visiting conventions, conferences and competitions each year, and her recent designation as a CMP will further enhance the entire Visit Rochester convention sales and event services team.”
