Greece Central School District recently hired Bergmann, an architecture, engineering and planning firm, to design its new transportation and support services facility.
The project will involve design and construction oversight for a 65,000 square foot building that will house a number of departments for the district, including transportation, buildings and grounds, central stores, technology, professional learning, facilities, planning and operations, and the print shop.
The new facility will be located at the intersection of Latta Road and Mount Read Boulevard, where the existing transportation buildings are located. To make room for the new facility, the project includes demolishing two buildings and the existing vehicle fueling island, relocating the district pole barn, and a new 4-acre lot purchased by the district. The structure will feature a rooftop solar array that can supply a portion of the building’s electrical energy requirements.
Bergmann will provide architecture, mechanical/electrical/plumbing, structural engineering, interior design, landscape architecture, environmental and survey services on the project. It will partner with K-12 architecture firm Young and Wright to assist with state Education Department approvals, as well as the programming and schematic design.
