Fourth graders at Lakeshore Elementary School in Greece recently embraced the message of helping others by making beanies for sick children.
Students in the classes of Kelly Andrychuk, Leslie Bruyns, Ashley Guhl and Wendy Schwartz made the hats through Love Your Melon’s Beanies for Nat program.
Love Your Melon sent hats to Lakeshore students as a thank-you for their efforts. Rather than keep them for themselves, students donated the hats to people in need, as well as the doctors, nurses and therapists that help people with brain injuries and traumas.
“As a group, we knew we wanted to pass on another good deed,” Bruyns said. “We wanted to show how one act of kindness can lead to another. The students are so excited to see this random act of kindness carried out. We hope that we inspire others to keep the kindness going.”
