Park Ridge Free Methodist Church in Greece dedicated its new handicapped-accessible lift “to the glory of God, for the nurture of children and youth, for the outreach to all people and also those with special needs.”
Regular churchgoer Jim Ciurca made the first trip down the Williams Lift to the lower level. A reception followed the morning worship service. It was the first time Ciurca and others with mobility issues had been downstairs, where many events are held.
“When I first came, it was evident we needed to add a handicapped-accessible lift to accommodate our seniors and also those with special needs,” the Rev. Deano Pulice said. “Our desire is to start a ministry to the many in our area with special needs.”
The project included a renovation of the lobby to allow more room for people to interact. Dan Seeler Construction renovated the lobby and Access Lift installed the lift.
