One child is dead and two others sustained serious injuries after a two vehicle crash on State Route 318 and Burgess Road late Saturday afternoon in Junius

New York State Police provided additional details from their ongoing investigation of the crash involving a minivan and a flatbed truck on State Route 318 and Burgess Road on Saturday afternoon.

State police say that Mary Taylor, 26, of Seneca Falls, was driving the minivan with her three daughters as passengers: 6-year-old Camyra Watts, three-year-old Tamyah Watts, and 11-month-old Capria Watts.

Taylor was slowing down to make a left turn onto Burgess Road when a flatbed truck struck her minivan from behind.

In an updated release, state police confirmed that Camyra Watts was pronounced dead at Geneva Hospital and her sisters, Tamyah and Capria, were airlifted to Strong Memorial Hospital for serious injuries. Taylor was treated for non-life threatening injures at Geneva Hospital.

Meroe Hurst, 19, of Seneca Falls, was the driver of the flatbed truck, registered to Finger Lakes Dairy Services. Hurst was not injured by the crash

The state police reconstruction and commercial vehicle enforcement units responded to the report of the crash at around 4:15, Saturday afternoon.
