The 2019 Mail Carriers Food Drive to assist those with hunger issues more than doubled last year’s total.
The postal carriers did a tremendous job publicizing their food drive and the people of Greece were very generous — they donated 5,315 pounds of food at their annual food drive on Saturday, May 12. For comparison, last year’s drive totaled 2,401 pounds. Our neighbors in need will benefit greatly! That is a lot of weight for our already busy postal carriers to handle in one day.
A sincere thank you to the Greece Post Office, and to each and every postal carrier. A note of appreciation also to Frank Leskovic, who helped to coordinate the event, and to the following who met the carriers at the Latta Road site and packaged the 5,315 pounds to transport to the Greece Food Shelf on Maiden lane: Amy and Bob Peritsky, Molly and Rich Ives, Deb Leskovic, Lee Stello, Judy Henderson, and Noreen Fenlon.
