New Day Christian Preschool in Greece recently hosted end-of-the-year closing ceremonies for its 3-year-old and 4-year-old classes.
The 3-year-olds entered their Moving Up ceremony while playing rhythm instruments. Dressed in their finest, students sang songs including “Color Wheel” and “Fireman Pete.” Each received a certificate and was promoted to the 4-year-old class.
The next day, students in the 4-year-old class participated in a graduation ceremony. They entered the room to the sound of “Our Graduation March.” Dressed in mortarboards and tassels, students lead the audience in the Pledge of Allegiance. They recapped the school year by presenting “Alphacise” and “Had a Great Day.” Each young graduate received a diploma.
Receptions honoring the preschoolers followed the ceremonies. The older class baked brownies for the occasion. Teacher Judi Marino was honored for 20 years of service to New Day.
“This is the saddest day of the year for me,” Marino said. “I will miss all of the children so much. It is hard to believe how they have grown and developed so much in just one year.”
