Ontario County Court Judge Frederick Reed ordered a DNA swab be taken from a Geneva teen accused of raping a woman in October of 2018.

CANANDAIGUA — A Geneva teen accused of the forcible rape of a woman had his DNA collected in court.

On Thursday in Ontario County Court, Nigel Tolbert, 19, appeared alongside his attorney, James Napier, as the DNA was collected by City of Geneva Police Department per the request of Ontario County First Assistant District Attorney Jason MacBride.

Tolbert was charged in October of last year with first-degree rape by force, first degree criminal sex act, first degree sex abuse, and attempted aggravated sex abuse.

Tolbert was initially held and released on $10,000 bail. Thursday in court, Ontario County Court Judge Frederick Reed reduced that bail to $5,000.
