Rochester airman completes basic military training

U.S. Air Force Airman Robert Frazier III, of Rochester, recently graduated from basic military training at Joint Base San Antonio-Lackland in Texas.

Frazier completed an eight-week program that included training in military discipline and studies, Air Force core values, physical fitness, and basic warfare principles and skills.

Airmen who complete basic training earn four credits toward an Associate in Applied Science degree through the Community College of the Air Force.

Frazier graduated from Gates Chili High School in 2018.

 

Wheatland-Chili students place at SkillsUSA contests

Wheatland-Chili High School students attending the BOCES 2 WEMOCO Career and Technical Education Center recently received the following awards in their field of study at the SkillsUSA award ceremony.

SkillsUSA Classroom Award: Vanessa Nowicki, retail commercial baking, first place; Tiayana Small, cosmetology, third place; and Abigail Webster, cosmetology, second place.

SkillsUSA Leadership Award: Cheyanna Beherns, health knowledge bowl team.

SkillsUSA Regional Competition awards: Jordan Sobolew, welding, second place.

SkillsUSA New York State Championships: Abigail Webster, cosmetology quiz bowl team, second place.
