It is my pleasure to welcome a new business to our Fairport community! Sydor Technologies will create its new headquarters and manufacturing operations in the village of Fairport, creating more local jobs. County Executive Cheryl Dinolfo announced Sydor Technologies expansion into Fairport at her State of the County Address in May. This new facility will help provide the photonics manufacturer more advanced x-ray detectors and diagnostics for energy, research and defense industries.
The new 41,000-square-foot building will be housed on Schuyler Baldwin Drive and will include brand new manufacturing equipment, research and development labs, as well as cleanroom space. This move will allow Sydor Tech the capacity to double the number of jobs while
adding as many as 36 new jobs by 2023. This is a great asset to Monroe County, where new
technologies are being developed in partnership with several national labs and universities;
including the University of Rochester Laboratory for Laser Energetics. The company will also be
working with the AIM Photonics Testing, Assembly and Production facility and RIT in the
region.
Sydor Tech first opened their doors in 2004 and now supplies systems and support in over 33 countries; specializing in the world’s most advanced applications in the defense, energy, ballistics, security, space and research industries. I am very excited to represent a district that continues to progress on the cutting edge of technology and proud that this wonderful company can call Fairport home. When we invest in local business, we are really investing in more jobs, brighter futures and stronger families across our community.
