The state Department of Environmental Conservation and New York Sea Grant awarded $24,998 to the Genesee/Finger Lakes Regional Planning Council and $24,584 to the Center for Environmental Initiatives.
The Council’s project, “Advancing Resiliency through Housing Assistance in the Genesee-Finger Lakes Region,” considers structures built before community flood maps, and inventories housing repair and improvement programs that consider the vulnerability of the built environment.
The Center’s project, “Canoe/Kayak Access Map for Genesee River Basin,” increases non-motorized boat access to the river and the public’s ecological awareness by updating the Genesee River Blueway Map with tourism and cultural information, and preparing a strategic plan to develop additional access sites.
