Webster Arboretum Tour: from 7 to 8 p.m. on Aug. 20 in the Webster Arboretum at Kent Park, 1700 Schlegel Road. The tour will include themed gardens, arborvitae maze, pond and trails. Registration required.
BUGS Release Party!: from 2:30 to 4 p.m. on Aug. 21. The afternoon will start off making bug jars in the library, then a walk to the Hickory Bark Woods Trail to collect and identify species of bugs. Registration required; open to children entering grades 1-4. Parents encouraged to attend.
Space Movie Night: from 6 to 8:45 p.m. on Aug. 21. This week’s movie is “Apollo 13” — 1995 — starring Tom Hanks, Bill Paxton and Kevin Bacon. NASA must devise a strategy to return Apollo 13 to Earth safely after their spacecraft undergoes massive internal damage putting the lives of the three astronauts on board in jeopardy. Rated PG.
Teen Dungeons and Dragons: from 1 to 7 p.m. on Aug. 22. Grades 6-12. No previous role playing experience required. Registration is required and limited to 8 players.
Discover the Stars: from 8:30 to 9:30 p.m. on Aug. 22. Star expert, Gaylon Arnold will talk about the summer night sky. Participants will learn about constellations, satellites and the Space Station. Registration required.
Animal Sleepover: from 6:30 to 7 p.m. Aug. 23. Bedtime stories and songs, then participants will leave their stuffed animals for a night in the library. Registration required.
