The Genesee Valley Chapter of the Association of Fundraising Professionals will recognize award winners from Greater Rochester in nine categories at its annual National Philanthropy Day celebration on Nov. 1.
Jennifer Johnson will be the master of ceremonies at the event, held at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center. More than 500 people are expected to attend in celebration of the winners and the philanthropic spirit of the Rochester community.
“AFP looks forward to honoring our 2019 National Philanthropy Day award winners on Nov. 1,” President Gretchen Wood said. “Each year, the Rochester community joins us to help thank generous philanthropists for their contributions that are making our region a great place to live, work, play and age well. This is always an inspiring day.”
This year’s winners are First American Equipment Finance (outstanding corporation), M/Body (outstanding small business), Camp Smile Foundation (outstanding foundation), Cathie Wright (Robert A. Clinger outstanding fundraising professional), Robert August (outstanding philanthropist), Gerald Archibald (outstanding volunteer fundraiser), Our Lady of Mercy 2019 Motto Project (outstanding young people in philanthropy — group), Madeline Berl (outstanding young people in philanthropy — individual) and Lauren Dixon (Burton S. August Sr. Award for community leadership).
The luncheon will run from noon to 1:30 p.m. Registration starts at 11:15 a.m. Early bird tickets are $55 for individual AFP members, $65 for nonmembers and $500 for a table of 10 through Oct. 4.
