The Lyons Central School District has announced that there will be no school on Wednesday as law enforcement continue to search for a "armed and dangerous" robbery suspect.

The announcement was made on the district's website. The statement says that the decision was made to "allow time for local law enforcement agencies to continue their investigation and with student safety being our top focus and priority."

The district had been in a lockout earlier Tuesday during the investigation.

School will resume on Thursday.

Deputies from Ontario, Wayne and Seneca Counties have been searching for the 28-year-old Brandon Burgess since he robbed a 7-Eleven in Ontario County with a long gun Tuesday morning. He is regarded as armed and dangerous.
