Retired Victor High School English teacher Tim Smith and his wife Deb recently published their first book, “The Beatles, The Bible & Manson: Reflecting Back with 50 Years of Perspective.”
They will appear at a meet-and-greet and book signing from 5 to 6:30 p.m. on Oct. 17 at the Victor Farmington Library, 15 W. Main St., Victor.
The couple previously contributed pieces of their writing to the Victor Post. In September 2017, they wrote about the death of Tim’s former student Scott Reese. In October 2018, they wrote about the 40th anniversary of boys varsity soccer at Victor Central School, with the additional connection that Tim was the team’s first boys soccer coach. Last June, they wrote about one of the players on the first team, David Grant Wright, who has gone on to a successful Hollywood acting career and was back in town of a Hall of Fame induction.
The Smiths look forward to meeting readers at the library, especially former students. Tim promises he won’t bring up those outstanding balances of $6.95 for freshmen that never returned “To Kill a Mockingbird.”
