Project Compassion students at The Charles Finney School, in Penfield, are preparing to be in Highlands to serve the urgent needs of Hurricane Sandy victims for the 20th time in April 2020.
Finney’s first disaster relief mission, in 2012, was at ground zero of Sandy in Highlands, New Jersey, where over 1,200 homes were destroyed. They sorted relief supplies and organized a food pantry.
Project Compassion teams arrived after flood waters receded from Clendenin, West Virginia; Ellicott City, Maryland; and Camp Good Days and Special Times in Penn Yan.
