Bryant & Stratton College recently named Doug Miller as head coach of the new Bobcats men’s soccer program.
The Greece resident comes to the college with 27 years experience, having started his soccer career as a player at Loyola College. He was the first-round draft pick for the Major Indoor Soccer League, playing first for the Kansas City Comets before going on to the Baltimore Blast, Harrisburg Heat and Cleveland Crunch, where he helped his team win two National Premier Soccer League Championship titles.
Miller played with the Rochester Rhinos from 1996 to 2005, during which time winning the U.S. Open Cup. While on the Rhinos, Miller joined the Buffalo Blizzard indoor team.
Miller is head coach for the Rochester Lancers, a position he continues to hold. In 2019, he led the Lancers to the playoffs, securing two wins but falling just short of the championship title.
“Coach Miller has been educating, inspiring, mentoring and sharing his love for the game with his players and teammates for decades, and we’re thrilled that he’ll be bringing his talents to Bryant & Stratton College,” said Michael Mariani, campus director at B&SC in Rochester. “We can’t think of a better leader to help us kick off our men’s soccer program here in Rochester.”
Miller spent over two decades coaching Rochester’s youth, owns a soccer facility in Spencerport and runs the Rochester Lancers Academy.
