The Levine Center to End Hate will present “Why Do We Hate?: A Community Conversation” with Pardeep Kaleka, a Sikh, and Armo Michaelis, a former white supremacist, at 7 p.m. on Nov. 21 at the Lyric Theatre, 440 E. Ave., Rochester.
In 2013, the two men met for the first time. They’ve been in dialogue ever since. Kaleka and Michaelis co-authored “The Gift of Our Wounds: A Sikh and Former White Supremacist Find Forgiveness After Hate.”
Since 2013, their educational organization Serve2Unite has engaged thousands of school students to address social issues including racism, sexism, homophobia, religious intolerance, Holocaust remembrance and genocide prevention.
Admission is $10. Email kbresson@jewishrochester.org if cost is an issue. Visit endhateroc.org to register.
