The Ukrainian Federal Credit Union, based in Rochester, held a grand opening and ribbon cutting event for its new branch in the town of Matthews just beyond the reaches of downtown Charlotte, North Carolina on Sept. 26.
The event began with the reciting of the Pledge of Allegiance followed by an opening prayer delivered by Deacon Pavel Borishkevich of Good News Church. Ukrainian FCU President and
board Chairman Wasyl Kornylo and Ukrainian FCU CEO Oleg Lebedko delivered welcome remarks.
The Honorable Paul F. Bailey, mayor of Matthews, greeted attendees and welcomed the credit union to the area.
Andriy Futey, president of the Ukrainian Congress Committee of America, participated in the grand opening.
The new branch is located in Suite E at 1730 Matthews Township Parkway and is open six days a week.
