ALERT: Expect heavy rains and high winds for trick-or-treating.

A strong storm system moves in Thursday, bringing soaking rains. The rain will start in the afternoon and last through the evening. Showers will be heavy at times. This will impact all who will be out and about for Halloween. You will need to pack an umbrella to keep your costume dry.

Winds become the concern Thursday night. We will be under a High Wind Warning. The storm will bring sustained winds 25-35 MPH. Gusts will be even stronger, around 60 MPH. Right now, it looks like Friday morning will have the strongest winds. Conditions will eventually calm down and the warning is expected to lift around 1 p.m. We could even see some sunshine on Friday.

Behind this system, we will see much cooler temperatures arrive for the end of the week and into the weekend. Expect highs in the 40s by Friday. There is a chance of a few flurries, especially southwest of Rochester. By Saturday, we could see a flurry here and there.
