A cast of local students in grades 8-12, led by director Erin McKenna Arvizzigno, will bring the 2013 Tony Award-winning musical “Pippin” to life on Dec. 13-15 at A Magical Journey Thru Stages, 875 E. Main St., Rochester.
With a score by “Wicked” composer Stephen Schwartz, the mysterious players of “Pippin” enact the tale of a young prince in search of an extraordinary life.
Students represent Brighton, East Irondequoit, Fairport, Greece, Irondequoit, Penfield, Rochester, Victor and Webster.
Performances benefit the Adopt-a-Family program at Friendship Children’s Center. Stages will collect new, unwrapped toys for children ages 3-5 in the $7-$10 price range to help families bridge the gap this holiday season.
“Pippin” will be staged at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 13-14 and 2 p.m. on Dec. 14-15. Parking is available behind the building on College Avenue. Tickets cost $16 in advance and at the door.
