Webster Thomas High School recently hosted the Greater Rochester Art Student Summit.
The event allowed more than 200 students from 11 high schools to interact with professional artists and teachers.
This year’s event, dubbed ARTFAM Summit 2019, is the first of what organizers Todd Stahl and David Denner hope will become an annual affair.
The Greater Rochester Art Student Summit was geared toward senior Advanced Placement and International Baccalaureate art students, and art college-bound juniors.
Local artists Chad Cleveland, Olivia Kim, Sarah C. Rutherford and Bill Stephens each spoke about their artwork, art-making process and career/life journey while leading students through sketchbook activities.
ARTFAM Summit 2019 featured students from Batavia, Brighton, Brockport, Irondequoit, Fairport, Pittsford Mendon, Pittsford Sutherland, Rush-Henrietta, Victor, Webster Schroeder and Webster Thomas.
