Mr. Kenyon had served on Town Board for more than two decades and was elected supervisor in November

The Macedon Town Board plans to fill the position of town supervisor at its organizational meeting on Thursday, Jan. 2. The board will fill the vacancy left by the death of supervisor-elect Paul Kenyon. Mr. Kenyon died Dec. 18 after battling cancer. Town Supervisor Sandy Pagano said his death was a shock. He had seemed to be on “the upswing with his health battle,” she said.

The meeting will be at 5 p.m. at Town Hall, 32 Main St. Macedon. Pagano had offered to stay on as town supervisor for one year to fill the vacancy through 2020. She said the Town Board turned down her offer, opting to fill the vacancy for 2020 by appointing someone at the Jan. 2 meeting. The remaining three years of the four-year term can be filled by the 2020 election.

Mr. Kenyon had served on the Town Board for more than 20 years, including time as deputy supervisor. The community is invited to celebrate his life on Saturday, Dec. 28, at 1 p.m. at Calvary Chapel of the Finger Lakes, 1777 Rochester Rd., Farmington, NY 14425. Contributions in Paul’s memory may be directed to WWIAF, 6516 Dolphin Cove Dr., Apollo Beach, FL 33572.
