Ontario County Sheriff's deputies want help finding a driver who left the scene of a personal injury accident

Ontario County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for help in finding a driver who left the scene of a personal injury accident Sunday in Phelps.

Deputies are investigating the accident that happened on Route 96 in the town, between County Road 6 and Hayes Road about 11:24 a.m. Dec. 29.

According to deputies a driver who was headed east on Route 96 lost control of her vehicle due to a reaction caused by another vehicle. The other vehicle left the scene. That vehicle was described as a dark-colored SUV, possible a Jeep Wrangler. The Sheriff’s Office spoke with two witnesses on the scene but are looking for any other assistance.

The driver who was injured was taken to Geneva General Hospital by Phelps Ambulance. Finger Lakes Ambulance took a passenger in that vehicle to Geneva General as well. Oaks Corners Fire Department also responded to the scene.
