Allendale Columbia is the first local school in the area to suspend all in-person classes starting Friday.

Head of School Mick Gee said the move was made out of an abundance of caution for the safety of their students and staff. Gee said there are no known cases of coronavirus within the Allendale Columbia community.

The school will stay open, but starting Friday all in-person classes will go into a remote learning environment. Faculty and staff will be in Friday, and then effective on Monday everything will be online.

Gee said school officials don't know how long the duration of remote learning will last but will continue to update parents and staff as more information comes out.
