The VA Finger Lakes Healthcare System has temporarily suspended visiting hours for all patients and Community Living Center residents at all its locations until further notice due to COVID-19. The Finger Lakes VA system covers VAs in Canandaigua and Bath.

Under special pre-arrangement, only hospice patients can have visitors — but under no circumstances will visitors under 18 years of age be allowed.

VA says it is striving to work with families and loved ones on “virtual visiting” options.

“If you have a fever, cough, shortness of breath — please stay home and contact your primary care provider. Tell them about how you are feeling and any recent travel you or members of your household have taken. They will be able to discuss your appointment options and answer any questions,” VA reminds veterans

Veterans with symptoms should call 1-800-877-6976 before coming to the VA. For other concerns, veterans are urged to access VA care from home by phone or using VA virtual care options.
