During the pandemic, Penfield glass artist Nancy Gong focused on her artistic and studio mission to make a positive connection between the organic nature of the human spirit and the built environment through the use of color, design and story. Gong seeks to reflect the spirit and energy of living things in her work. The Brighton native is owner and principal designer of Gong Glass Works, where she designs and fabricates commissioned contemporary architectural and fine art glass projects for homes, businesses, institutions, nonprofits and public clients. Gong is an honorary member of the American Institute of Architects, New York State, and AIA Rochester. She is a member of the American Glass Guild, Stained Glass Association of America, Glass Art Society and Society of American Mosaic Artists. Gong and her glass works are featured in regional homes, offices and institutions, including Rochester Institute of Technology, Rochester Museum and Science Center, ARTWalk of Rochester and the Port of Rochester. She received awards from AIA Rochester, the Memorial Art Gallery at the Rochester Finger Lakes and Clothesline Festival, Arts at the Gardens, and the Keenan Art Show.
