ROCHESTER, N.Y. (WHEC) — The First Alert Weather Team has issued a Yellow Alert for Monday for our region.

With the heat and humidity building on Monday morning and afternoon, conditions will be favorable for isolated severe thunderstorms to develop ahead of a cold front. The first part of Monday looks to be mainly dry, but by the late afternoon into the evening the cloud cover will build along with isolated showers and storms. Any storms that form will contain torrential downpours.

Temperatures on Monday will reach the low 90s with heat indices into the mid to upper 90s. Once this cold front moves through the area, temperatures will drop back into the low 80s for a majority of next week with lower humidity.
