Coffehouse coming to former Starry Nights Cafe
A new cafe is coming to the NOTA district in the former Starry Nights Cafe at 696 University Ave.
Derrick DePorter, partner and chef of Unter Biergarten, is teaming with Tony Colon, co-owner of Fuego Coffee Roasters, to open Matilda Coffee House & Kitchen. This Australian cafe will feature a fast casual menu with breakfast items, sandwiches, salads, grain bowls, draft coffee, beer, wine and kombucha.
The historic location is in the process of being renovated and reconfigured to fit the new concept. Construction was delayed as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic, but the cafe is slated to open in mid-September.
