Pittsford Rotary launches online auction

COURTESY OF ROTARY CLUB OF PITTSFORD

The Rotary Club of Pittsford’s “Cheers!” Auction is underway through 9 p.m. May 26, with items available for pickup through May 28.

The virtual event features wines and spirits that won a medal from the Raise A Glass Foundation, which donated unopened bottles to the club from its competitions. Top winners are marked with gold and platinum medals; all others won silver or bronze medals.

“The pandemic forced us to cancel our annual ‘A Taste of Pittsford’ fundraiser this year and we’re conducting this online auction in its place so the community organizations we support may continue to benefit at the highest possible level,” said Pittsford Rotarian Jim Murphy, event coordinator. “We’re offering some of the finest wines and distilled spirits from around the world for auction, in addition to exceptional other items. The European wines are excellent and rarely available in the U.S.”

Pittsford Rotary Club President Harold McAulliffe, left, reviews a checklist with Rotarians Nancy Loughlin and Jim Murphy for the club’s “Cheers!” Auction.

Proceeds from the auction will support community organizations such as the Pittsford Food Cupboard, Pittsford Volunteer Ambulance Service, Pittsford Volunteer Fire Department, Little League, Special Olympics and Habitat for Humanity.
