Newark man killed in motorcycle crash in Palmyra

A Newark man was killed early Sunday morning in Palmyra when his motorcycle struck a deer, Wayne County Sheriff’s deputies reported.

The collision occurred on South Town Line Road in the town of Palmyra shortly before 3 a.m.

Deputies report that Gerald P. Stanley, 31, of Newark, was operating a motorcycle east on South Townline Road in the town, when a deer entered the roadway and struck the motorcycle. Mr. Stanley was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Sheriff’s Office was assisted at the scene by the Palmyra Fire Department, Wayne County EMS, and Finger Lakes ambulance.
