Sheriff: Jail inmate intended to use 'shank' weapon

A Sodus resident was charged with first-degree promoting prison contraband and third-degree criminal possession of a weapon Sept. 11, following an investigation at the Ontario County Jail.

Terry Tyrone Iglus Jr., 28, was found to be in possession of a "shank" style weapon that he intended to use on another person at the jail in Hopewell, according to Ontario County sheriff's deputies.

Iglus remained in custody at the jail, where he will be arraigned.
