Free mammograms available to uninsured patients
Elizabeth Wende Breast Care, 170 Sawgrass Drive, Brighton, and Cancer Services Program will provide breast cancer screenings for uninsured patients at no cost on May 8, as well as insured women needing Saturday appointments.
CSP does not perform the screenings, but pays for clinical breast exams and mammograms. It also pays for follow-up diagnostic exams if there is an abnormal finding during a screening. If cancer is discovered, CSP will enroll eligible patients into the Medicaid Cancer Treatment Program to cover treatment services.
Women with a family history of breast cancer, concerns about their risk or issues paying for their screening mammogram are encouraged to make an appointment. Call 585-442-2190 or visit ewbc.com for information.
