Cornell University honors Brighton teacher, student

Cornell University recently honored Brighton High School teacher Molly Healy and her student Sarita Benesch.

Benesch was celebrated as a Merrill Presidential Scholar — an outstanding graduating senior at Cornell in the top 1% of their class. College deans select Merrill scholars for their academic achievements, leadership and potential to contribute to society.

Scholars can recognize the high school teacher who most inspired their scholastic development. Cornell then awards $4,000 scholarships to incoming freshmen and current students from those teachers’ high schools or geographic areas, in their names.
